Professional Credentials

Kim has her MBA degree and is a Series 65 investment adviser. She also possesses credentials in two specialized areas that are important to Aurora’s future. She holds the Certified Trust & Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation from the American Bankers Association and for many years she held the strategic designation of Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). As a result of Aurora’s unique business model, our client families require more sophisticated resources than investment management firms can typically provide.

Kim’s experiences include managerial positions as Chief Financial Officer at Spinnaker Trust, President of Monument Way Inc., an investment holding company, and the administrator and Chief Financial Officer for the Tureen & Margolin Law Firm and Tribal Assets Management Inc. These last assignments included the direction of two private family offices.

Kim has been a volunteer civic participant with a number of public service and educational institutions in the Portland community. She is president of Portland Downtown, the public-private improvement district, and treasurer of the Maine Jewish Film Festival. She is an advising member of the Finance Committee and former treasurer of the Board of Trustees for the Breakwater School in Portland, and has been an active member of the Maine Estate Planning Council. Kim served as treasurer and technology officer for, the groundbreaking nonprofit organization that trained more than 28,000 seniors to use the Internet and email as a means to provide health care literacy and an enhanced, connected quality of life. She also served as treasurer of My Wonderful Dog, a nonprofit organization that trained service dogs.

Raised in Indiana, Kim and her family, and their pups, Chandler and Joey, live in Portland. They enjoy summer days motoring their classic Boston Whaler on Casco Bay. Kim is passionate about hunting and fishing, which makes her a nice fit for Aurora’s official addiction, fly fishing.
